Yamaha YZF R125 engine rebuild parts

⚠️ Safety Warning: Rebuilding an engine requires mechanical expertise and precision. Ensure you use a torque wrench to meet the specific manufacturer settings found in the workshop manual. Improper assembly of engine components can lead to catastrophic failure and safety risks while riding.

Yamaha YZF-R125 Engine Rebuild Parts List

When rebuilding the YZF-R125 engine, using high-quality components is essential for longevity and performance. Below are the recommended brands and parts typically required for a full top and bottom-end overhaul.

Core Rebuild Components

  • Gasket Sets: NE brand gaskets are highly recommended for their reliability and consistent seal.

  • Bearings: It is best to stick with premium industrial brands like SKF or Koyo for crankshaft and gearbox bearings.

  • Oil Seals: New Athena oil seals should be fitted during every rebuild to prevent internal and external leaks.

  • Pistons: Firefox pistons have a good track record for this model. Alternatively, genuine Yamaha pistons are ideal if sourced from a reputable dealer.

  • Barrels (Cylinders): The standard practice is to rebore the existing barrel and fit an oversized piston for the best fit.
